Renewal of the approval of nutritional supplements

About the Service

This service allows the renewal of the approval of nutritional supplements and their inclusion in the list of materials permitted for import into the country, including the following: (feed additives / nutritional supplements) for the purpose of allowing importation.

Service Process

• Log in using UAE PASS to start the service.
• Fill out the application form.
• Attach the required documents.
• Pay the fees ( in case submitting an application for renewal approval feed additives or nutritional supplements only).
• Submit the application.
• Approval of Nutritional Supplement Substances and Their Inclusion in the List of Materials Permitted for Importation into the Country.

Conditions & Requirements

• The facility must have a license for activities related to trading and manufacturing food supplements (import and export of food supplements/feed additives and food supplement/feed additive factories) or a license for facilities for veterinary products (veterinary pharmaceutical warehouse.

Required Documents

• Requirements for renewal approval of additives feed and nutritional supplements :
• Valid agency / agreement between the manufacturer and the local UAE.
• Valid GMP or equivalent Certificate issue from the competent authorities in the country of origin.
• Free sale Certificate or equivalent issue from the competent authorities in the country of origin.
• A copy of the label of the product issued by manufacturer meets all of the following data:
• The trade name of the product.
• Ingredients and quantities of the product.
• Target animal SPP.
• Name and address of the manufacturer.
• Storage conditions.
• Indication.
• Contraindications, warnings and precautions (if any).
• Batch number, production date and expiry date.
• Veterinary use only or for animal use only.
• In the case of feed additives mention (feed additives) & in the case of feed supplement, mention (animal nutritional supplements).
• Weight or net size.
• Certificate of analysis of the product from the manufacturer.
• Certificate from the manufacturer that the product is free from pork derivatives, any other harmful substances & the product is safe for animals and the environment
• Certificate from the manufacturer regarding adherence to the maximum limits of mycotoxins in the product according to UAE.S GSO 841:1997 Standard
• If the veterinary product contains a source of animal protein, a certificate issued by the competent authority in the country of origin must be submitted as follows:
• The type of animal, the part used and its source.
• Animal products used in the manufacture of the product are taken from animals examined before and after slaughter.
• The product comes from a country / region free of avian flu if the product contains poultry meat and their products or treats the product by heat at 70 ° C for at least 30 minutes or the equivalent.
• The product comes from a country free from BSE or is classified with a controlled risk neglectable / for mad cow disease - if the product contains beef (provided that the feed is not used in ruminants feed).
• Animal feed must not contain meat, bone meals, and other animal derivatives derived from ruminants except milk and its replacer.
• In the case that the veterinary product contains (substances containing or produced by genetically modified organisms); must be mentioned in the label: (genetically modified) under the ingredients in the same line size, but in a different color according to UAE.S/GSO 2142:2011 Standard.
• Certificate of product analysis from an accredited laboratory in the United Arab Emirates, if the product targets horses.
